Thrust Ball Bearings Magnitude of Life Ratings

Random Links

For thrust ball bearings, use the following equation to calculate the magnitude of life rating L10 given in (Revolutions x 106)  :

Where:

or,

When the bearings balls are larger than 1.00 inch:

or,

When bearings has two or more bearings ball rows the following equation applies:

and,

Where:

Ca = Load rating Lbs (N)
Pa = Thrust load Lbs (N)
L10 = Rating life (106)
f
c =  Geometry constant ( manufacturer supplied )
Z = Number of bearing balls in single row and direction of the thrust ball bearings
D = Bearing ball diameter inches (mm)
= Contact angle degrees
F
r = Radial applied load Lbs (N)( manufacturer supplied )
F
a = Radial load factor Lbs (N)( manufacturer supplied )
X = Load factor radial( manufacturer supplied )
Y = Load factor axial ( manufacturer supplied )
Z
1, Z2, and Zn = Number bearings balls in rows for a multiple row thrust ball bearing
C
a1, Ca2, and Can = Load rating of each row of single direction, or multiple row thrust ball bearing.
