The screen in CATIA v5 is not proportional; the width being 88 percent of the height. this causes circles to appear as ellipses...and it's annoying!
This is the best picture that I can get from the available resolutions from the driver. I just got a Samsung SyncMaster T220 Wide-screen monitor. I am running at a screen resolution of 1600 x 900 pixels. The monitor has a native resolution of 1680 x 1050 (WSXGA+), but that resolution is not available from the NVIDIA video driver. I went to: Control Panel / Display / Advanced / Quadro FX 1000 / Digital Flat Panel Settings... and checked "Fixed Aspect Ratio Scaling" Now, the CATIA has a Horizontal to Vertical ratio of 1:1, but there are black bands of unuseable monitor area about .65 inches tall on the top and bottom of the screen. Does anyone have knowledge of settings within CATIA (or elsewhere) that will allow my monitor to display in 1:1 horizontal-vertical proportion, and use the full screen area? Thanks in advance for any advice that you may be able to provide. |

Well, we finally got to the bottom of it. I called I.T. support, and they uninstalled the latest NVidia driver, re-installed an earlier version of the driver, and now my monitor runs at the native resolution of 1680 x 1050. The monitor now looks sharp! ... and circles no longer appear as ellipses. Thanks to all for their suggestions.
