While I realize that there are many opinions on Cad software packages, does anyone know what the best software for deriving orthographic views from 3-D drawings of vessels? I'm looking for something that will show hidden lines and hide nozzles so the can be shown as is typical with 2-D vessel drawings. Maybe after all these years, I'm still asking for too much.

Most 3d software packages will create exactly what you are looking for.Even designing your vessels will be easier.Such packages are Solidworks, Pro Engineer, CATIA, Autodesk Inventor, ACAD ( to a certain extent)You can download trials of these from the net along with tutorials but I would advise you to get video tutorials if you are not familiar with parametrics and feature based modelling. You can also buy the tutorials for a few dollars but the software is a bit more expensive.Hope this helps
