IS THERE ANY CAD OR OTHER SOFTWARE FOR SPECIALY FOR FORGING.TO CALCULATE PART WEIGHT, DESIGN DIE LAY OUT ,SIMULATION 3D,GRAI FLLOW ETC. THNK YOU V.D.DEODHAR. |

I use solidworks for 3CAD and Mold Design. I know it does some of the stuff your asking for. |

The one I am aware of is MSC Superforge. The software seems to be an analysis package for forgings. Also, look at COSMOS, NASTRAN and ANSYS. I do know that for design, most 3D cad packages are quite capable. Pro-e, Solid Edge, Solid Works and others that have draft commands to speed the forging design process. Most all 3D cad software that can calculate mass and Mass moments. Keep in mind that grain direction is defined on the forging drawing and manufacturing designs thier forging process to achieve the grain orientation.
