Drawing Title Change

I will be revising a drawing to insert specific notes for a customer. I was also thinking about changing the title of the drawing as well, but someone said that is a not allowed. I have been through ASME Y14.100 and its subsets but have found nothing to that effect. Does anyone have any thoughts on the subject.

I'm not aware of any official rule that prohibits one from changing a drawing title. However, for a part that has been released for production a title change could cause confusion within associated parts list, travelers or assembly instructions. You should review related documents to see what the effectivitity is.
