I have been asked to create a drafting standards manual for the small manufacturing company I work for. We use AutoDesk Inventor and AutoCAD and deal primarily with sheet metal and steel tubing. Can anyone give me some ideas as to how to go about this? I was thinking of starting with some basic manual and customizing it for our purposes. Does this basic manual exist? |

Welcome to the Engineers Edge! You mention AutoCAD, so I wonder if you are also looking to create a CAD standards manual as drafting requirements are separate from CAD standards. A recognized industry standard within Aerospace, automotive, medicine and others is the IHS Global Engineering Documents Drawing Requirments Manual. |
