If i need to print accurate cad drawings, what sort of printer should I be looking for? Ideally, the printing should be accurate down to the millimeter. My drawing is of a snowboard outline. I have had bad luck with kinkos large scale copies. They were only accurate to within 14 millimeters. Not quite good enough! Do i need to look for a plotter, or just a printer with a high-resolution specifications? Thanks Esscher |

Every printer is capable to print accurately every cad drawing as this is not a matter of printer resolution. You should be looking for an option in your cad drawing application that let's you calibrate your printer. Usually this is done by printing a rectangular shape by a given size. After printing you measure the results and put back into the cad calibration program the measured values. The program will automatically use a correction factor each time that calibrated printer is used, thus printing accurate drawings each time. |
