    Datum Target Application on Drawing

I have some experience with geometric tolerances but am not fully confident with the above application using a datum target in combination with note 6. Any assistance or comments would be greatly appreciated. We use a non contact measuring system that can measure in the z direction so we are trying to make sure the drawing exhibits these actions and eliminates any confusion with our supplier.

As a primary datum "A" the three points of contact should not be in a straight line... To create a datum plane one needs a minimum of three contact areas not in a straight line.

I see the error for Datum Target A1. I am thinking if I remove the Datum Target A1 and leave Datum A and than revise the note to say measurement to be taken at dimension .761 basic dimension location instead of from target A1.

With the limited information I have on fit, form and function --- sure, that will get you a datum plane..
