MODFE Download
A two-dimensional FE program for groundwater flow under saturated conditions. Will run in DOS. Source code is available. Many other groundwater flow programs are obtainable from this ftp site including the well-known MODFLOW and SUTRA.

LUGR Download
Adaptive grid solvers for systems of (time-dependent) pdes in 2D and 3D. VLUGR, vectorised local uniform grid refinement, can be used with advantage when the solutions exhibit sharp gradients in space and time. The code is written in Fortran 77 and has been installed on an SGI work station.

LARAMY, FAULTS, PLATES Download
2D thin plate FE analysis for the PC. Platform: IBM-PC or compatible. F77 source code also available. Problem types include anelastic rheology, large deformation and large strain. Mailing list.

iMOOSE Download
iMOOSE is an application framework for solution of problems in the design of electrical machines. Platforms: Linux, uses C++ and Python.

HMD Modeling Download
HMD is a finite element solver compatible with GMSH, GMV, and VIS5D+, freely available for download under the GNU Public. Platform: Binaries are available Linux and Win32. The linux binary will run on linux kernel 2.2.13 and glibc 2.1.2 and higher. The win32 version uses cygwin. The cygwin DLL is included in the distribution. The program includes nD applications to the Laplace, Poisson and Helmholtz equations. Installation instructions and documentation are included with the package.

GepFEM Download
A multi-purpose / multi-physics parallel finite element solver for the solid earth. Platforms: Compilation of the GeoFEM source code (version 4.0) requires C++ and Fortran 90 compilers and an implementation of MPI. The code has been compiled and tested under the following OS: Linux, Digital UNIX 4.0x. For further information about platforms and configuration see the GeoFEM website. GeoFEM is part of the very ambitious Earth Simulator project begun in 1997. The latter aims at the development of a high performance massively parallel processing computer capable of 40 TFLOPS at peak and 5 TFLOPS effective speed (about 1000 times faster than current super computers). The GeoFEM component aims at the modelling and simulation of solid earth phenomena and development of associated large scale parallel software. When complete the project will be able to deal with problems on the scale of 100 million degrees of freedom.

FreeFEM, FreeFEM+, FreeFEM++, FreeFEM3D Download
The FreeFEM* programs are a family of open source adaptive FE codes which can be applied to solve a variety of pde's and pde systems. Platforms: The program has been compiled on the Macintosh and Powermac, on PC's running Windows 3.1 and Windows 95, and on a variety of work stations (Sun, HP, IBM RS6000 etc). Windows and Mac executables are provided, otherwise compile from source.
