MGGHAT Download
MultiGrid Galerkin Hierarchical Adaptive Triangles: Fortran program for the solution of second order linear elliptic pdes. FE method with linear, quadratic or cubic elements over triangles. Adaptive refinement via nearest vertex bisection, and multigrid iteration both based on the hierarchical basis formulation. Run-time displays based on gnuplot. Postscript user manual.



MODULEF Download
A modular FE library which can be installed on workstations, mainframes and supercomputers. The facilities include 2D and 3D mesh generation and visualisation, and a choice of solution methods (direct and iterative). There is an interactive mode and source code is available.



MODFE Download
A two-dimensional FE program for groundwater flow under saturated conditions. Will run in DOS. Source code is available. Many other groundwater flow programs are obtainable from this ftp site including the well-known MODFLOW and SUTRA.



MiniFEM Download
An experimental 2D object oriented FE package for student and academic use. Platforms: The C++ source code may be compiled on any machine. The program consists of the base system FEpack, the finite element library FElib, and the macro language FElab. Extensive documentation (in German) is available.



LUGR Download
Adaptive grid solvers for systems of (time-dependent) pdes in 2D and 3D. VLUGR, vectorised local uniform grid refinement, can be used with advantage when the solutions exhibit sharp gradients in space and time. The code is written in Fortran 77 and has been installed on an SGI work station.



LARAMY, FAULTS, PLATES Download
2D thin plate FE analysis for the PC. Platform: IBM-PC or compatible. F77 source code also available. Problem types include anelastic rheology, large deformation and large strain. Mailing list.



keyFE2 Download
keyFE2 is a FE (finite elements) program devoted to the resolution of discretized partial derivative equations. The program allows the user to define its own problems, equations, constraints... A Newton-Raphson algorithm is used to solve the non-linear set of equations.



KASKADE
Family of adaptive FEM codes in 2D and 3D for solution of elliptic (KASKADE) or parabolic (KASTIO) pdes. Platforms: Sun, HP, Macintosh. Compiles with Gnu C or C++, but other compilers will also work. Postscript user manual. Mailing list (qv) available. Kaskade 2.1 (written in Ansi C) comes in two variants, for 2D and 3D problems respectively. Kaskade 3.0 is effectively a new program, written in C++ and emphasising the OO (object oriented) approach to program design. In Kaskade 3.0 1D, 2D and 3D problems are all handled by a single program. User and programmer manuals are available
