Edgewound Resistors constructed from a continuous ribbon of resistance alloy material, helically wound on edge to form a rigid coil. The wound ribbon coil is supported by a ceramic core which provides the requisite insulation and sets the spacing ribbon.

Edgewound resistors are a power resistor and are available in many size and power configurations.
