Where:

F = Force required to lift (lbs, N)
W = Weight lifted (lbs, N)
h = ρ = Pitch of lead jack screw (in, mm)
µ = Friction constant (dimension less) ≥ 1
l = radius (in, mm)
s = 2 π l (in, mm)
ρ = pitch
π = 3.14157

Mechanical Advantage

MA = load/effort = (2 π l) / ρ
