Custom
cast Urethane have excellent physical properties, such as,
high abrasion, good load bearing characteristics, excellent tensile strength and tear resistance.
Cast Urethane are tough and durable materials which
facilitate significant advantages over metals or plastics.
Urethanes
may be cast with fiber or glass reinforcement material to enhance
the load, flexure and EMI characteristics of the final part.
Additionally, cast urethanes may be post mold processed
using milling and other processes to enhance feature
tolerances, such as size and location.
Urethanes are processed
initially from a hot liquid, therefore mold pressures are low,
reducing tooling cost and mass. Molds may be manufactured
from steel, aluminum, or even wood. Creating a reverse
engineered tool made from Urethane for plastic, or metal
parts is simplified due to the low viscosity of the
urethane.
