The active fillet weld height specification
is the largest isosceles triangle which may be inscribed
with the theoretical weld cross-section.
 
The theoretical fillet weld size height
approximately specifies a = .7 as given by trigonometry,
where z is the fillet weld width. The minimum fillet
weld height should be selected based on the actual thickness
of the thickest weld part and the strength of the material.
