galvanized steel vs zinc plated steel

What is the difference between galvanized steel and zinc plated steel? Are they the same? I have read Bob's reply above to "galvanization process" written on 12/9/2002, and it explains the galvanization process quite well. Does zinc plating differ from this? Thanx!
