hi everyoe, i have a question which concerns calculating the damping coefficient c given the following vaules.
the period of damped linear oscillation for a 1kg mass is 0.32seconds. the stiffness of the spring K=850N/m. find c. the equation i'm using is; 2*3.14/[sqrt k/m sqrt 1-(c/2*m sqrt k/m)^2] im getting no where think it may be the re-arranging thats getting me but the closest ive got is 95N s/m.
Many thanks. |
