You're both right. Sure would want to be paid up on your insurance, and yes it is excessive. Most folks could surely see that 42 cylinders wouldv'e been plenty... and shortened the bike up a half a foot...!! |

quote: "Most folks could surely see that 42 cylinders wouldv'e been plenty..." The reason, as I under stand it, was to utilize ignition distributors from Jaguar. As 42 is not evenly divisible by 12, (the number of cylinders of the engines which the distributors were garnered)it only made sense to build a 48 cylinder engine. Afterall, who would want a lame 36-cylinder engine on their motorcycle when they could go whole-hog (pun intended) and have 4 twelve-packs of fun?

....... ya think there may be a torque balance control problem with this... it was bad enough on the P-51 Mustang.. I don't want anywhere down road of that junk pile. That is totally insane. I assume it is intended for a land speed record of some kind. Using all that torque to drive the final drive at high speed and to overcome wind resistance... .. a death trap! The worst suggestion of your lifetime may be the catalyst to the grandest idea of the century, never let suggestions go unsaid nor fail to listen to them. |
