i am trying to solve a static structural analysis of a part for different mateirals...
My part (geometry) and loads$supports remains the same except material..
Then, induced von-mises (any stress plot) plot should be same..am i correct??
but value changes in 0.002 range...can anyone tell me what's the reason for this???

appreciate ur help...

If it is a single part then your problem is statically determinate. So the stress values should not change when you change your material, the strain does change in accordance with the modulus.
If its an assembly made of a few components, the problem could be statically indeterminate (you have to judge yourself which of the above descriptions defines your case). In such a case the stresses are a function of the materials used in construction and will not be same when you change the material

Please elaborate your problem in detail so that we can be of help,

sjob

Your explanations are very limited. You seem to be explaining the problem to someone who has seen it, etc. When you say the stress changed by .002, what does that mean(%, fraction, magnitute, units, what)? I can't make heads or tails of what you are saying. What are you working on designing?

0.002 ? What. May be this is because of internal stress genarated due to strain. Stain Varies with material right ?

sorry all for late response...

0.002 is the difference between different stress values i get. this is a single component. No change in geometry and load but different material..

i need to know what are all the causes for this little difference in stress value...am i making it clear?

Changes in geometry due to deformation may be taken into account by your software. These changes in geometry could produce slight differences in stresses. If the percent difference is very small, that may be your problem.

If the displacements are super small, than any difference should be very very very small. Check the problem using a much smaller load (both would therefore undergo near negligible deformation), and see if this makes the difference more insignificant.

Good luck
