| Material diameter left on a reel? | |||

Hi Guys, How can we determine the diameter of the material left wound on the reel? I have a reel with outside diameter of 22" and inside diameter of 6.5", the thickness of the material to be wound on the reel is 0.054" and the length of that material inside the reel is 135m. Thanks for the help. |

Simple math tells you how many wraps of the (I assume) wire will fit across the width of the reel. Simple math tells you how many layers will fit between your two diameters. each time you add a layer you know the length of the circumfernce around at that diameter.. times the number of wraps wide. Do it for each layer, and add them up. ....or figure the middle layer times the number of layers to get close. The worst suggestion of your lifetime may be the catalyst to the grandest idea of the century, never let suggestions go unsaid nor fail to listen to them. |
