I am looking for some information regarding a class 5 interference thread fit (NC5-CSF). I recently inherited some products which use a Dorman double ended stud in which the base plate calls out for 9/16-12 NC5-CSF internal thread. I haven't been able to find much info on this thread class other than what it's application is. Can anyone point me to where I could find additional information? |

Welcome to the Engineers Edge! The NC5-CSF designation is referenced in ANSIB1.21M and is generally used for copper and other soft alloy ( ferrous and non-ferrous) materials. In genenral this thread specification is for materials with interferance requiremnts and having a 160BB or less. Also see DLA FED-STD-H28/23 specification. |
