Thorlabs uses the SM05 (0.535" - 40) and SM01 (1.035" - 40)thread sizes. Does anyone have the standard info (tap drill sizes, max/min major, etc.) for internal and external threads of this size?

At Thorlabs a SM01 and SM05 are part numbers for Fixed Lens Tube Mounts.

Just go to thier website and search for these part numbers. The SMO5 is tapped with two 8-32 (M4 x 0.7) on the bottom. The lens threads do not appear to be specified in thier catalog, however I'll bet a beer that it is an industry standard thread.

They just don't want to tell you as this information could cut into thier sales..
