| Shell thickness calculation safety factor | |||

Can anyone advise if the engineersedge calculator headed Thickness of Circumferential Shells under Internal Pressure calculates a minimum thickness just a notch up from bursting or is there has a built in safety factor and if so, what is it

No, there is not a FOS built in to the calculations. The maximum allowable stress value should be adjusted (less) to give the FOS you need. The weld efficiency is another fos adjustment. |
