hi everybody, now,i am trying to design a simple compression Bending machine to bend pipe.hope you can help me in the calculation.I need help on how to calculate the bending force to bend the pipe to 90°.

OD pipe : 20 mm
wall thickness : 1 mm
pipe material : 409 stainless steel
Tensile strength yield : 35000psi
elogation at break : 33%
modulus of elasticity : 2900 ksi
radius of bending : 60 mm
this's a video of the machine:

dungbkx,

I think you have asked this question already here on EE. I agree with marky, unless you are in the pipe-bending equipment business just go buy one. In America every muffler and electrical installation organization has one.

You will likely spend more time trying to figure out how to design this than to just go buy one..

Hi and welcome to the forum....You're reinventing the wheel. Search Craigslist, or Ebay or even the 100's of used industrial equipment sites.

There are a lot of small companies that have gone out of business so I'm sure there are several of these out there.
