Need to run some tubing inside the confines of a pressure vessel, with 20kpsi inside the vessel, and atmospheric pressure inside the tubing. Anyone have experience with external pressure on a JIC type connection? Or maybe some of the high/medium pressure offerings from Swagelok or Autoclave?
Thanks, Gary |

Hello Gary, For such application I would not choose JIC as my primary choice, but should you need to it might be an option. Please look up Spirstar if you choose to use JIC. I have used JIC fittings which which were rated internally for 3,000 psi (At times pressure does not even meet half of the MAWP), in depths of 9000' and it has held amazingly. JIC is rated for high pressure you simply need to know where to obtain it from, in this case it would be Spirstar. My final recommendation would be Autoclave, as their valves are tested internally and externally, equally Autoclave is for high pressure applications. Here is an example of valves that I recently obtained. ROV Override valve MAWP Int: 10,000 PSI @ RT
Flow Control 20SM9071
Methanol Inject MAWP Int- 5,000 PSI @ RT
P/N- 201D-0520

Thanks for the reply. I am talking to Swagelok now, but they are not tested externally. I will see what I can find from Autoclave.
thanks, G |
