hi....

I am sruggling for calculation of coil length which concentric in plan & inclined in elevation(just like shock absorber coil).

Can anybody help in this regards?

each coil turn will be


Length = ( diam^2 * pi ^2 + pitch ^2)^0.5

I have a question to ask you regarding your formula. What would be the formula to calculate coil/spring winding length with a constant pitch if the wire is a flat ribbon? Much appreciated.
