Archimedes Number Equation and Calculator

In viscous fluid dynamics, the Archimedes number (*Ar)*, is a
dimensionless number used to determine the motion of fluids due to density
differences.

Eq. 1

*Ar = [ g L*^{3}* ρ*_{1}* (ρ - ρ*_{l}* )
] / µ*^{2}

Where:

*g* = Local External Field (For Example Gravitational Acceleration) (m/s^{2})

* ρ*_{1} = Density of the Fluid (kg/m^{3})* ρ*
= Density of the Body (kg/m^{3})* µ* = Dynamic
Viscosity (kg/(s-m))*L* = Characteristic Length of Body (m)*Ar:* Archimedes
Number (dimensionless)
