Hi, I have a PVC Ball with 2.00" Diameter and i need it to pass through a Steel Restriction with ID 1.95". Can anyone help me out how to calculate the Shear load or pressure to shear the ball through the port.

To estimate the forces required, see:

You will need enough contact area on the ball to ensure you don't deform or yield a shape during the shearing operation.

Hi, Thank you for your reply. For the Calculation, Should I take into account the compressive strength or the Shear Strength?
