Normally, I don't let political posts on Engineers Edge. I'm going to let this one stay put as I do think there is a fact problem in the USA...
From what I've seen the "two sides" each have their own sets of accepted facts. Its hard to have a discussion about the importance of and interpretation of facts if only one side accepts them as truthful. As far as your diagram, I would agree with the relative positioning of the various sources, but would disagree with the labeling of those positions as "mainstream", left leaning, etc.
