I guess it never hurts to ask...
Why not type something like "design scissor lift" or maybe "scissor lift parts book" etc... in your search bar? Maybe run down to your local rental place and ask them if you can look one over up close and personal. Or maybe just ask one of your classmates to make you a copy of their paper?
