Does anyone know if there is a strength requirement for belts and sheave guards for centrifugal pumps? All I can find in the OSHA regs. is requirements for enclosers to keep clothing, hands, etc. from coming in contact with rotating parts. This question came about from a large pump that broke a shaft and the sheave impacted the guard which broke lose.
