Heat transfer Fluid for 300F Process
Hello,
I am looking for a heat transfer fluid for a process. My bulk temp will be a max of 300F (obviously a bit higher at the interface with my furnace.) This is a closed system, but I can't go over 25 PSI. Will be in contact with carbon steel, stainless steel, and copper. A food grade or at least non-toxic option would be optimal.
10 months out of the year we will be running between 140F and 180F. 2 months out of the year we will run at 300F. I would like a fluid that will last for years with minimal (or zero) maintenance.
I am considering 100% triethylene glycol for a heat transfer fluid, or an aliphatic hydrocarbon based fluid.
What would you advise that I use?
Thanks for your help!
