it is all about how to prove this. Could it be proved at first place? Thanks :)
V/Q is only a simplified form of HRT; assuming the effluent flow rate will be equal to the influent rate. For simple systems this is more than enough and, if need be, can be used to control the return rate so that the initial time still stands.
Calculating what the return rate is needs a different calc.
