Confused Deflection at the unsupported end

There is a mistake in the formula in the Structural Beam Bending Equations / Calculation Cantilevered Beam with Uniform Load http://www.engineersedge.com/beam_be...s/beam_b85.gif

    The correct formula is (w*l^4)/(8EI)

Engineers Edge equation uses Total load where your equation uses Line load.

Total load is clearly indicated on the load image.

    Different - not wrong..

    Or assumptions.

Dare I re-use one of my favorite quotations...
I think it was the great British Engineer, Bazelgate who said, "...conspicuous failures from structures hastily contrived!"
