The Boeing Dreamliner has been in the news lately for battery ploblems. The FAA has made a decision to issue an emergency air worthiness directive, effectively grounding the 50 Dreamliners used by the world's airlines.
Earlier this week, the National Transportation Safety Board, which investigated that incident, released images of the lithium-ion battery that may have been the source of the fire.
Here's what it looked like once fire personnel extinguished the flames:

This interesting... The reality is that nothing is completely made in America.

Actually you may be surprised at where parts are made for our motor vehicles here. Many many years back I worked at GM and even back then some body panels and the steering column assembly (one I item I specifically remember as I was incorporating into a Vehicle) were made in Europe. Some from the UK (Vauxhall) and others from Germany (Opel) and that was in the late 60s, probably '68.
It used to drive us nuts as the European parts were all Metric.
