    Oil Flow Rate

    Hi,

    Would someone have an idea how I could estimate the flow rate of Heavy Fuel Oil at the bottom of a pierced tank?

    Viscosity: 380 cst at 32 degrees Celsius

    Thanks.

    Size of opening and distance between opening and top of tank are needed

    I know both the size and depth of the hole, but I need to account for the viscosity here.

    V= (2.g.h)^0.5
    and
    Q= V.A

    But I need something else because this is not water, it s a very thick Fuel Oil.

    You are too coddled.
    Why don't you spend a few minutes to Google "flow of viscous fluid through an orifice"
    I'll bet you will get at least 10 promising hits.
