    Software/Hardware for PC-based RTA solution

    Hello -

I am interested in analyzing the transfer functions of some small signal circuits; what are some optimal hardware/software solutions for doing this on a Mac/PC in real-time for a modest price?

    Thank you!

"Transfer functions of some small signal circuts" is a broad area. Can you give us more specifics on the circuts you are to be analying?

If you are talking about what I think you are talking about then a basic spectrum analyzer should work for you. There are a few DIYs out on the internet that can help you build a lower quality unit for around $50.

I'm specifically looking at some audio circuits (frequencies of interest up to only 20khz), and signals of no more than a volt in magnitude.

I was pointed to Visual Analyzer, and although I haven't gotten to try it yet, it appears promising. What solutions did you have in mind?

Well, I went quite brain dead. Dont forget about your handy-dandy oscillograph!
