    Strength of Material

    Hello every one,

Hope all doing good. am a New joinee of this forum. I have one problem , need to find the solution of Moment of inertia of C section and derivation.

Can any one help me to find and even the where we need to use the Euler buckling force.

    Moment of Inertia

    Dear Mr.Kelly Bramble,

Thanks for your quick response. I have already tried with the formula available in EE. But my theoretical result is not matching with simulation results. Could you please help me to get other solution (moment of Inertia of attached section). Attached the section/Drawing1.pdf

    Thanks in Advance

    Regards
    Venki

I suggest that you re-check your software data inputs or other. Calculating the moment of inertia of a beam section well understood...

I will echo Kelly's response. I have previously performed a number of FEA vs. classical formula comparisons and generally always found the error to be with the FEA modelling or the selected meshing elements' geometry.
