    real-time ECG?

    Hi everyone,

I'm designing a medical device which requires a real-time signal from an electrocardiogram sent to the CPU of the device.

From what I was told, for typical ECG's there's a lag time between the detection and output of the electrical signal(?) Does anyone know if there's reliable real-time ECG device or procedure that I can use?

I think I've only been able to find detection algorithms to predict QRS complexes. I'm a chemical engineer, so all this is pretty confusing for me.

Is there? can you post your source, references or performance of such technology?

I'm pretty sure there is no delay at all, in fact that would sort of useless if there was.
