    Wow,

    In my not-so humble opinion.

    What a waste of money.

Need 5 doctorates and multiple grad students for this boondoggle.

And we talk of government waste?
Probably got a government contract to subsidize this thing.

Much more can be done analytically at a fraction of the money.

I suppose somebody at U Nevada wants to attract engineering students. It's a good business at $50,000 a year tuition.

Never heard of it as an engineering school.

Not sure I agree with you Zeke, there was an interesting comment near the end, "for smaller earthquakes the trucks help a lot, but today the trucks were aggravating it."

Ain't nothing better than 150-ton of steel, 6 pickups to produce facts to help form an analytical model, then you can use the model.

Well Dave, I admit being somewhat harsh, but I'll change my view if I can see quantitative data to support the qualitative results.

But I am very skeptical, having been around universities and seen overfunding of worthless projects.

    Ahhh Zeke,

    Now you have got me.

    >> having been around universities and seen over funding of worthless projects.

I am whole wholeheartedly behind you on that comment and I have to say, there is a little cause for caution when the budding PHD said she had been faced with many challenges, "lifting the trucks up..." Can we all say "Forklift"
