Pull out force for aluminium base with self tapping screw

    Hello all,

i would like to know how to calculate the maximum pull out force and torque that the aluminium base can withstand using an M6 self tapping screw. to be clear before the screw fails the female threads that are formed in aluminium base will strip or pull off first. i need to know the maximum load and torque aluminium can with stand.. any body can guide me to the solution???

Standard engineering practice is to design a threaded interface so that the fastener fails BEFORE the internally threaded feature. This is so that the internally threaded feature can be reused..
