Hi There- I am completely new to this forum so please bear with me folks, I am in the process of constructing a Goods trailer and need it to carry 1/2 a ton -1 ton load max. I would like to know(if some kind member would inform me)-the least size box section I should use to achieve this-e.g. 40x40x3 m/m or 50x50x3 m/m or would it be advisable to use unequal size box section -e.g. 60x40 (or similar) to achieve the load bearing capacity that I require?

I have bought a Indespension braked coupling(CP036), a pair of auto reverse brakes(ISSU029) and 3 wheels and tyres(WT058) to use on this project but now need to construct the chassis - the final dimensions I have in mind are 2 metres long x1 metre wide x 1 metre high (rectangular frame) the "A" section dimensions would be approx. 2030 m/m long?

Also, how far would the axle need to be welded down on this frame -I believe the rule of thumb is 2/3rds the length of the trailer to pull correctly- Thank you in anticipation,

John Stainthorpe.
