I'm looking to bind a 2mm x 8mm piece of ceramic to a piece of silicone rubber.
Is it possible to bind these two materials together, preferably without using glue or epoxy?
I was thinking perhaps it would be possible with heat, but not sure how feasible it would be.
Many thanks in advance for any help!
In general bonding may be possible if the ceramic material is porous relative to the the Silicone. The silicone applied in a liquid or semi-liquid medium will fill into the porous areas to facilitate the bond. One could also design geometries onto the ceramic and silicone materials to provide positive grip between the two components.
Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.
