    Heat Treat Call Out

    I have a heat treat call out for quench and temper heat treat that is stated "36 BIS 48 HRC". Does anyone know what BIS is supposed to mean?

    Is the engineering drawing German in origin?

    Bis = to, so translated:

    36 to 48 HRC

    or, it could mean "Best Induction Services" for induction hardening process.

    Ultimately, contact the engineering drawing creator.
