Perform torsion testing on steel reinforcement - But Why?

    Hi all

Its been a while since I posted - its good to be back.

I wanted to ask a question related to torsion specifically why it is important to perform torsion testing on steel reinforcement?

The only reason why its important in my mind is because:-

    1) You can calculate the sheer stresses a steel reinforcement will experience and thus can design steel reinforcement such that what withstand such forces?

Can I ask the community what they think? why is it important to perform torsion testing on steel reinforcement.

    Thank you all.

Most structures will encounter complex loading in service. Torsion would be one of those loading conditions.
Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.
