    Environmental Engineering or Civil Engineering?

Just asking what is the most important for the future. Environmental Engineers or Civil Engineers. Lets not talk about the salary but how can these people contribute to our future and for the next generations. As a normal human being how can we save our planet by preventing human migration to mars or other planet.

Agreed. You will find that the older engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, civil) are also the most diverse as far as job opportunity.

I think civil engineering will maintain its importance as it has done until today.

While both civil and environmental engineers design plans, what they are designing varies greatly. Civil engineers focus on the development of various structures, including roads, buildings, and airports, while environmental engineers create different projects that can solve environmental issues.
