I'm reviewing a test proceedure for a LED light.

There is a voltage surge testing requirment on this component on mobile battery powered equipment.

I'm assuming this is testing for voltage surges that may come from drive motors during operation or during start up.

Would there be a need to consider lighting surges( environmental forces) on this equipment?

On thing i'm curious about is the time delay between surges. 10ms surges for a hour. I guess I don't fully comprehend the purpose of this test. What would occur that we would need to hold to this requirement.
