What If There Is No Gear/Tooth In The Center And Inner Lobe Of Rotary Wankel Engine?

    Hi All.

    Sorry for my English.

I wonder If There Is No Gear/Tooth In The Center And Inner Lobe Of Rotary Wankel Engine?

    Ordinary one is like this.

    And the gearless/toothless picture follows.

What is the worst scenario if there is no gear?

Is the friction will be less?

    Thank you all.

Your rotary engine becomes a stationary engine. The rotor must rotate to maintain the tips of the rotor in contact with the case as it the eccentric moves on the output shaft. The gears maintain the rotor in the correct position.

If we see in this picture:

The center gearless still can maintain the rotor in the correct position ..., can't it?
