More than One Surface Finish Symbol on Drawing

    Hi everyone,

    First post, be nice please

I came across a drawing which shows 3 different surface finish symbols, 2 of them are within brackets, as well as specific points on the drawing. Please see attached.

I don't have much experience with surface finishes, but I thought it is normal practice to have 1 general surface finish value, different finishes can be specifically noted on different areas of the part.

    Thanks.

Where an arrow or a clear drafting association with surface is given - that's the surface roughness required.

For those surface roughness specifications within the brackets - contact the engineering drawing originator and ask for clarity.

It's not clear to me either.
Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.
