    Nylon Torque Theory

I am trying to understand the Torque Values shown for nylon on this table
    https://www.engineersedge.com/torque_table_sae.htm

Is the values shown the Maximum Torque for the Fastener itself before the head of the fastener breaks off or the threads for the hole stripping out?

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

The values shown are the target torque for the material. For example, if a .250-20 UNC the target torque threading into Nylon 16 in-lbs.

If you go to the torque design web page you'll find webpages that will help you estimate stripping torque
