    Aluminum strength

If one were to take a 2"x2"x3' piece of 2024-T3 Extrusion from Alcoa and a 2"x2"x3' piece of 2024-T351 plate and then macine both with the same "L" profile(say 5/16 radius on the inside corner), where each side is 1/4" thick and both parts are 3' long,
    questions are:
1-- which one would have a stronger cross section if you were to stress the part by trying to spread the "L" apart?

2- what would the difference be in either PSI or %.

3-if you were to start with 2024-O as the "L" extrusion and then heat treat it to T3 specs, would it be stronger/same/weaker than a piece of the above already in a T3 state prior to machining.

    Thanks

You need to get the spec sheets from both companies for the same material grades and compare them. All will be revealed.
