external pressure vessel design with gauge, nozzles and holes design

    Hello,
I have to design external pressure thin-wall vessel-tank with holes for pressure gauge, vacuum pump, inlet and outlet holes and safety valve. External pressure 1 bar, material Aluminum 3003-0, vessel volume ~120 L, corrosion allowance 1mm. Head type doesn't matter. Need to calculate both vessel and head wall thickness, stresses. Design should be economical. Thank you for advise!

From a structural and safety of operation point of view you should apply design rules as specified by ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code. The latest revision is 2010 - not cheap.

There are numerous design and engineering books available for the design of pressure vessels.

Of course, you could get an expert in pressure vessels involved.
